Sign Language at its Finest

Students from Ukraine made electronic gloves that not
only keep your hands warm, but they turn sign language

into actually speech. This can let deaf people talk
with people who don't know sign language and let deaf people talk using phones.

The gloves are part of a project called Enable Talk that won first place at this year's Microsoft Imagine Cup. Microsoft Imagine Cup is a competition that invites teams of high-school, college, and university students from all around the world to create new problem-solving technologies. The Ukrainian team created these gloves that have sensors that can tell how the wearer's fingers are flexing and moving. The gloves send information to a phone , which will translate the signs into text or spoken words. I think this is a really brilliant idea and I think it deserved 1st place.
