(SPOILERS) Bridge To Terabithia (Book Worksheet) "Finally!"

Main Characters: Leslie, Jess
Summary: Jess wants to be the fastest kid in his school, and now's his chance because last year's champion, Wayne Pettis is gone. But when a new neighbor, Leslie Burke arrives, everything changes. She wins every race held by the kids in the school. Leslie and Jess quickly become friends and they create their own world in the woods called Terabithia. They are king and queen, the rulers of Terabithia. But when Jess goes on a trip with his favorite teacher, a terrible tragedy happens.

1. friendship

2. You shouldn't judge people.

3. Jess: kind, hopeful, scared
Leslie: cool, kind, brave

3a. I think it was kind of Leslie to comfort Janice Avery, even though Janice bullies Leslie and everybody else so much. When Janice was crying because her two friends spread rumors, Leslie, comforted her by understanding.

4. The part of the story when Leslie died and Jess built a bridge was memorable because it was so sad. I almost cried. Jess built the bridge in memory of Leslie across the stream so that nobody else would ever fall in.

5. The author is trying to tell you that you shouldn't judge people by how they look or by the things they wear. Kids made fun of Leslie because she wore weird clothes and had short hair, but she turned out to be very kind and helpful. Also Janice seemed very mean, but the truth was that she was beat by her father at home.

6. I would rate this book a 10 because it was so meaningful and sad.
